Since April 2020, Invisible Grail has worked with the School of Social Professions on a dynamic online programme which joins up Principal Lecturers with the Head of School, Heads of Subject and Student Experience. We’ve taken the challenges of working remotely as an opportunity for leaders across the School to connect and approach the future with hope.
It was striking from the very start of the programme to feel the commitment of all colleagues to the success and wellbeing of their students, and this shone at all times through their approaches to leadership.
Our creative approaches, involving vision-building, writing, and challenge conversations, lend themselves well to working in online rooms. We’ve made the most of breakout spaces to enable colleagues to share practice and develop new ideas for supporting and challenging colleagues throughout the School.
3 online workshops, lasting two hours each and run over a period of 2 months, was supplemented by one to one coaching for 7 members of the School’s leadership group. Within the first few weeks of the programme starting, there were noticeable impacts in how colleagues collaborate. Leaders began to experiment with new approaches to working remotely, and with generating solutions to make online learning and teaching work in the 2020-21 academic year.
We’re continue working with the School to support these leaders and their colleagues as they nurture a culture of collaboration, agency and shared success.
