Would you like a group of colleagues to take bold steps in how they use language to create a compelling narrative for their organisation? Have you identified a need for building a team through improving writing and communicating together? Is there a version of one of our programmes which we could customise to meet your needs? Our Bespoke programmes could take a single morning, or cover several days.
Our point of departure will always be a detailed conversation with you about your needs. This will allow us to design a proposal which aligns with your organisation’s culture and strategic direction. We can facilitate an event for a small team or a large group. We’d be equally happy to work up close with an individual colleague who would like to work on strengthening the impact of their written and spoken communications.

What they say
“I’ve been working a lot with Paul at Invisible Grail recently as we develop a refreshed international strategy and it’s really helped me appreciate much more clearly the creative role language plays in bringing people together.”

These are the words used by participants to describe a recent programme at the University of Hong Kong that aims to enable the Faculty of Science to see itself in new ways; to construct narratives for its own future. These words were chosen by 15 senior colleagues who participated on the programme. They capture a snapshot of their experience. Read the full case study here.
Bespoke programmes in the making
Here are some of the bespoke programmes we are planning and running this year:
♦ A four-day programme to establish and develop a leadership team of 30 senior managers in a university: Building our Future Narrative. Writing and communicating are central to our work on this programme.
♦ Workshops for professional services managers, across a full-day event on the theme of leading in a changing landscape. The focus is on practical activities for navigating and influencing change in a university. These include approaches to brokering and facilitating conversations across large teams: how we talk about the challenges and how we engage people with them makes all the difference.
♦ A three-day intensive programme in a leading international university for a Faculty leadership team, based around coaching to develop individual leadership challenge projects. We designed a process in which groups of leaders collaborated on practical inquiry tasks which recommended changes in key strategic areas of the Faculty’s work. The groups communicated their intentions to academic audiences, and their messages made a strong impact.
♦ A one-day workshop for senior leaders who are drafting applications for Principal Fellowships of the Higher Education Academy.
♦ Workshops to support and inspire people who need to write attention-grabbing, impactful papers for a university’s executive team.
♦ Work supporting team building and communications around a university’s internationalisation strategy.
♦ Capacity-building support for a major programme of urban renewal, to enable key stakeholders inside a university to work with partners in government, councils and relevant business sectors. Getting the story right, and learning how to make it compelling and motivating for others, is a core theme of this programme.
